Coffee for a cause

Sorry beans, we havent been posting due to momma beans health. Momma bean is suffering from heat exsaustion and dehydration and that means, NO COFFEE!!!! Gasp!!! It truly is as dreadful as it sounds. But, shes on the mend. Thank you so much loyal and faithful followers. Also welcome new followers, fellow bloggers who have subscribed to our blog lately. We look foward to catching up and getting to know your stories and families through your blogs as well.

Today we ventured out for the first time, and we stayed close to home. We went to a great little place in Williamsburg called, “The Coffeehouse.”

5251-6 John Tyler Highway
Williamsburg, VA

We happen to know a little backround on this place through things weve heard and seen through the community. We know its a family run business, which is so valueable these days. The family is kind hearted, they do and give a lot to the local church, this is a great place who cares about giving back.

So, what about the coffee??

Well, I must say, momma bean has had hundreds of iced mochas in many different states and this one is absolutely the best! They roast their own beans, in store, which we always love! They sell a yummy variety of fresh blends. They also have a nice food menu. All in all, its a wonderful place, a hidden treasure you should check out next time your in the area. Dont forget to tell them bean brigade sent ya. Until next time, enjoy your sip, wherever you sip. Onto the bean score…

Colonial coffee

Aromas Cafe
431 Prince George St
Williamsburg, VA

Hey Guys, if you live in, or plan to visit the Colonial Capital which is Williamsburg we have the place for you! It’s definetly one of our hometown favorites and managed by our good friend Angela (www.momspotoftea.blogspot.com) By now we hope you know you can trust us when we say it’s good coffee! They offer a full bakery and cafe menu with really off the wall items like our favorite Mac n’ cheese with bacon, cherry tomatoes, chives, and bbq chicken on top. They have a drink of the week which momma bean tries every single time we go and has yet to be let down. They also offer spiked smoothies and a spiked Irish coffee! Right in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg it’s packed full of tourist, locals, and William and Mary college students that flock there to get their hands on some good coffee! A major downfall in our opinion is that it is very expensive. They even charge almost a dollar extra for soy milk, ouch. It’s always slammed full with a good social atmosphere. Maybe, a place to meet Misses or Mr. right. Weekends usually include a local musician or poet. The walls are covered in art by the locals. Its kid friendly with very special food and desserts including smores and every kids favorite, goldfish. It is also dog friendly with a beautiful back patio area where pets are welcome to hang out with you while you enjoy your coffee. Come stop by and be sure to sip it on a stroll down Duke of Glouster st. where you’ll see men wearing funny hats, plenty of friendly puppies, and even a little shopping!

On to the score than shall we (colonial slang for ya)

Yoga bean

There is an amazing new place in Williamsburg called, The Living Room. It is an awesome coffee shop but it is so much more. The owner is a very sweet man. He is very knowledgeable in the world of coffee. He even roasts his own beans in house. He has very unique, full flavored blends. The espresso is top of the line for sure! Its really nice to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with the owner who not only knows his stuff but is passionate about coffee. The coffee shop is big. Cool colors, neat decor and artwork. Outdoor seating. There is also an ever changing menu. The food is incredibly delicious from blueberry scones to vegetarian chilly. Everything they offer is so so good!

This coffee shop even offers…

Drum roll please…

Yoga!!!

How cool is that? The teachers have been doing yoga for over 20 years and eat, breathe, live yoga. If your looking for yoga classes this is your place. Yoga and coffee, so good right?

But wait, theres more. Live music often. A recording studio! And a clothing consignment. This is your one stop shop.

In closing, we will be taking a week off. We will be unplugged if you will. “The mountains are calling and we must go.” We are going camping, see yall when we get back.

Disappearing bean

There once was a coffee shop called Harbour coffee. We tried to go there to enjoy and review it numorous times. Everytime we went, regardless of the day or time, they were closed. There hours were super inconvenient and inconsistent. They had a printed paper on the door so they could continually change hours. They only opened a couple random hours, a couple random days. The closest we ever got to going in was once when the open sign was on, there were people inside and when i parked, got my kids out in the rain and made it to the door, they literally locked it in our face, mouthed “were closed” and shooed us away. We always wondered how they stayed in business,  well now we know, they didnt.

RIP Harbour coffee!
